“Whatever the dreams people have for themselves or the people they support, those dreams should be based on high expectations. Too many people have low expectations and those low expectations hurt people.”

This is one of my favourite quotes. It was said by Jeff Strully, the CEO of Jay Nolan Community Services.  Go to their website to read their inspirational story that resulted from raising expectations.

Recently while spending time with people with a disability they have given me permission and the privilege of making videos of them and the important people in their lives.  The things they were doing again show what can happen when people recognise that anyone can do anything when given the right support.

These videos feature the often stunning work being done by the staff and students at the Arts Education Centre in Abbotsford, Victoria.  This is a program run by Interact Australia.

Thanks to the students and staff for your generosity in allowing me to make these videos.

This one shows the people attending Interact's Art Studio in the Abbotsford Convent.

The next one shows a group of men working at the Collingwood Children's Farm, packing feed bags for the animals.

More recently I spent time with Interact staff (thanks Rebecca, Cathy and Sonia) while they assisted people to deliver meals on wheels to senior Victorians in the Hawthorn area.  Check out this video of them providing this service to their community.
